Applies to: All plans
Every plan — Self-Managed and Managed — is eligible for our 30-day money-back guarantee, and it applies to your initial order: renewals are not covered. This article summarises how it works and what is and isn't refundable. For the binding terms, always read the full refund and money-back policy and the authoritative Terms of Service on maxinodes.com.
What does the money-back guarantee cover?
If you order a plan for the first time and it isn't right for you, you can request a refund of what you paid for the plan's first term within 30 days of your initial order. That includes a first-term price and the full prepayment for a 12 or 24-month term. If the plan came with a free first-year domain, the domain's regular price is deducted from the refund, and the domain stays registered to you for the rest of its first year. Both lines qualify — Self-Managed (Lite, Plus, Pro) and Managed (Starter, Growth, Business and Enterprise) — but the guarantee covers a first-time, eligible plan and your initial order only, so a renewal is not refundable under it. Approved refunds are processed within approximately 14 days.
If you paid by card or another method on our payment page (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit or bank transfer), the refund goes back to the same means of payment. If you paid in cryptocurrency, a refund is not pushed back down the rails the payment came in on — a crypto payment cannot be reversed the way a card payment can. We agree the euro amount being returned and the wallet address to send it to. That euro figure is what we owe you and does not shrink if the rate moves, but rates do move in the meantime, so the amount of cryptocurrency you receive back may not match the amount you sent. See What payment methods can I use?.
Renewals are not covered. The guarantee applies to your initial order only, so when the service renews for another term, that does not start a fresh 30-day refund window. A renewal is charged at the plan's renewal price, and we email you at least 30 days before any renewal that costs more than your last payment: that is the time to cancel, or to ask us to switch you to monthly billing. If you do not want to continue, cancel before the renewal date — see How to cancel your hosting.
To start a request, email billing@maxinodes.com within the 30 days — or raise a request in our Help Center at support.maxinodes.com — and tell us your domain and which service you want to cancel.
What is not refundable?
Some charges sit outside the guarantee, regardless of plan:
- Managed Email — Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace mailboxes — non-refundable once provisioned.
- Renewals — the guarantee applies to your initial order only, so a renewal payment is not refundable under it.
- Other third-party items, licences and one-off charges bought through us.
- Domain registrations and renewals — once a domain is registered or renewed, the fee cannot be refunded (the registry charge is already incurred).
The money-back guarantee applies to what you paid for the first term of a first-time, eligible plan, not to these one-off or third-party charges.
What about VAT?
We do not currently charge VAT or tax at checkout, so there is no tax component to refund today. You can still add a VAT number and business details to your client area profile. See VAT and your invoices.
Do I have any other rights to cancel?
Yes. If you are an EU consumer, you may also have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal (a cooling-off period) that is separate from, and additional to, our guarantee. Our guarantee is a commercial promise: it never replaces, reduces or limits that statutory right. The right itself can be limited if you ask us to begin a fully performed service immediately. See Your right of withdrawal (EU consumers) for details.
Note: This is a plain-English summary. If anything here differs from the Terms of Service published on maxinodes.com, the published Terms apply.
