Applies to: All plans
You pay for your Maxinodes hosting either through Credit/Debit Cards & Local Payment Methods — cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit and EU bank transfer — or in Cryptocurrency: BTC, ETH, USDT, GRAM and other major coins. Both are live, and you choose between them each time you pay an invoice. Neither stores a payment method unless you turn on automatic card payment, so nothing is charged automatically unless you have turned that on.
You manage everything to do with payments in your client area at my.maxinodes.com.
Payment methods
| Method | Status |
|---|---|
| Cryptocurrency | Live. Pay with major cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, USDT and GRAM. You get the exact amount and address at checkout, and the invoice clears once the payment is confirmed on-chain. |
| Credit / debit card | Live. Visa, Mastercard and other major debit and credit cards. You pay on a page hosted by our payment provider, and the invoice clears as soon as the payment succeeds. |
| Apple Pay and Google Pay | Live. On the same payment page as cards. |
| PayPal | Live. On the same payment page as cards. |
| iDEAL and Bancontact | Live. iDEAL in the Netherlands, Bancontact in Belgium. |
| Bank transfer (SEPA) | Live. SEPA Direct Debit and EU bank transfer, on the same payment page as cards. |
Those are the methods we can take a payment with. If you cannot pay an invoice with any of them, email billing@maxinodes.com before the invoice falls due and talk to us — do not simply leave it unpaid.
Paying by card
When you choose Credit/Debit Cards & Local Payment Methods on an invoice, you leave the client area for a payment page hosted by our payment provider, Whop. You enter your email address and card details there, so your card details never reach Maxinodes. Whop creates a Whop account for you; the receipt comes from us. Once the payment succeeds, the invoice is marked paid automatically.
Nothing is kept on file afterwards, so you pay the next invoice by hand in the same way, unless you turn on automatic payment (see How to update your payment method).
How recurring billing works
Hosting is a subscription, so you are billed each term for the next term in advance.
- Billing cycles: Monthly, 12 months or 24 months on all plans. A new order on a 12 or 24-month term starts at a discounted first-term price, once per customer; after that, the plan renews for the same term at its renewal price. See Billing cycles and how much you save.
- Invoices: We generate your renewal invoice a set number of days before the due date and email it to you. You can always see it under Billing -> My Invoices in the client area. If a renewal will cost more than the last amount you paid for that service (for example, the first renewal after a first-term price), we also email you at least 30 days before the renewal date.
- Paying: Open the invoice, choose Credit/Debit Cards & Local Payment Methods or Cryptocurrency, and pay. See How to view and pay an invoice for the steps.
How auto-renew works
Auto-renew keeps your service from lapsing by raising the renewal invoice for you. Nothing is charged automatically unless you turn on automatic card payment for renewals; otherwise neither payment option stores a card, bank details or a wallet.
- What happens automatically: we generate the renewal invoice ahead of the due date and email it to you.
- What you do: pay that invoice by card or in cryptocurrency before its due date. Unless you have turned on automatic card payment, nothing is taken from a saved card or wallet, and there is no billing agreement to approve, check or cancel.
Result: Pay each renewal invoice by its due date and your hosting keeps running. An invoice left unpaid past its due date leads to suspension.
If a payment fails or your service is suspended, see Why was my payment declined or my account suspended?.
How refunds work
How a refund reaches you depends on how you paid.
- Paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA Direct Debit or bank transfer: we refund back to the same means of payment. There is nothing to agree first, and we do not need a wallet address from you.
- Paid in cryptocurrency: a cryptocurrency payment cannot be reversed the way a card payment can, so a refund is arranged with you rather than pushed back down the same rails: we agree the euro amount being returned and the wallet address to send it to. That euro figure is what is owed, and it does not shrink if the rate moves. Exchange rates do move in the meantime, so the amount of cryptocurrency you receive back may not match the amount you sent.
What is refundable in the first place is set out in Refund and money-back policy.
VAT and your invoices
VAT is not charged at checkout today, because Maxinodes is not yet VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to your invoice total. You can still add your VAT number and company details to your profile for the future. For more, see VAT and your invoices.
