To add your VAT number and business details, open your profile in the client area and fill in your company name, address and VAT number. Your details then appear on every invoice we generate.
Applies to: All plans
Before you start: You need to be logged in to your client area at my.maxinodes.com, and you need your company name, registered business address and VAT number to hand.
Add or update your business details
- Log in to your client area at my.maxinodes.com.
- Open the account/profile menu (top right) and choose your account or profile details.
- Fill in or update your Company Name and address fields with your registered business details.
- Enter your VAT Number in the VAT field, including the country prefix (for example,
IEorDEfollowed by the digits). - Save your changes.
Result: Your company name, address and VAT number are stored on your account and will be shown on future invoices.
Will VAT be added to my invoices?
No. Maxinodes does not currently charge VAT or tax at checkout, because we are not yet VAT-registered. Prices you see are the prices you pay today.
You can still add your VAT number and company details now, so your records and invoices are complete before that changes.
What happens once we are VAT-registered
Once we register for VAT, our plan is to apply the standard EU rules:
- EU business customers (B2B) with a valid VAT number will use the VIES reverse-charge mechanism, where VAT is accounted for in your own country rather than charged by us.
- EU consumers (B2C) will be charged VAT through the OSS (One-Stop-Shop) scheme at the rate for your country.
Keeping a valid VAT number on file now means reverse-charge can be applied automatically when the time comes. For more on how this appears on your documents, see the related article below.
Troubleshooting this task
- I can't find the VAT field. It lives in your account/profile details, not on an invoice. Open the account/profile menu (top right) in the client area.
-
My VAT number won't save or looks wrong. Enter it with the two-letter country prefix and no spaces (for example
IE1234567T). Check it is valid on the EU VIES checker. - My company name is wrong on an invoice already issued. Update your details, then contact us if you need an issued invoice corrected.
