Maxinodes uses three separate places to manage your hosting, and each one owns a different set of tasks. Use this page as a quick map so you always know where to go.
- Client area (my.maxinodes.com) — billing, domains, DNS records, support and your account.
- cPanel — your website's files, databases, PHP and SSL tools. Open it by single sign-on from your service page in the client area.
- Email admin — your mailboxes live in the Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace console, not on our server.
Quick rule: anything to do with paying us, your domain name or DNS is in the client area. Anything inside your website (files, databases, PHP, SSL) is in cPanel. Anything to do with a mailbox is in your email provider's admin.
Client area (my.maxinodes.com)
The client area is our WHMCS portal. It handles everything about your account, your billing and your domains.
| Task | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| View and pay invoices | Billing -> My Invoices |
| Add account credit | Billing -> Add Funds |
| Manage payment methods | Billing -> Payment Methods |
| Upgrade, downgrade or cancel a plan | Services -> My Services |
| Open cPanel (single sign-on) | Services -> My Services (open the service, then Login to cPanel) |
| Register, transfer or renew a domain | Domains -> My Domains |
| Auto-renew, EPP code, WHOIS, DNSSEC, domain privacy | Domains -> My Domains (open the domain) |
| Manage DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV, CAA) | The DNS manager under your service or domain |
| Registrar email forwarding (relay to an external mailbox) | Under the domain |
| Support tickets and quotes | Support |
| Add your VAT number / company details, 2FA, sub-users | Account/profile menu (top right) |
Two things that surprise people:
-
DNS records are managed here, not in cPanel. Your DNS is managed by us, on our own nameservers, and a zone is created automatically for each hosting service. The cPanel zone editor does not control your live DNS. Your nameservers are
ns1.maxinodes.comandns2.maxinodes.com. - You can pay by PayPal, card, bank transfer (SEPA) or cryptocurrency. We do not currently charge VAT at checkout.
cPanel (your hosting panel)
cPanel is your per-account hosting panel. You reach it by single sign-on from Services -> My Services in the client area — no separate password to remember. It controls what is inside your website.
| Task | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Upload and manage files | Files -> File Manager |
| FTP accounts (FTP / FTPS) | Files -> FTP Accounts |
| SSH / SFTP access and keys | Security -> SSH Access |
| Create MySQL/MariaDB databases | Databases -> MySQL Databases |
| Run database queries | Databases -> phpMyAdmin |
| Change PHP version per domain | Software -> MultiPHP Manager |
| Raise PHP memory / upload limits | MultiPHP INI Editor (within your plan's limits) |
| Cron jobs | Advanced -> Cron Jobs |
| Addon domains and subdomains | Domains |
| SSL status and reissue (AutoSSL) | Security -> SSL/TLS Status |
| Install and manage WordPress | WP Toolkit (shown as WordPress Management) |
| Restore a file, database or full account | JetBackup |
| Disk usage | The stats sidebar / Metrics |
Free AutoSSL (Let's Encrypt) issues and renews HTTPS automatically for every plan. Note that adding a domain in cPanel does not change your live DNS — do that in the client area.
Email admin (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)
Your mailboxes are not hosted on our server. We resell Professional Email on Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, so all mailbox administration happens in the provider's own console — there is no cPanel webmail, Roundcube or "email accounts" tool here.
| Task | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Create or manage mailboxes / users | The Microsoft 365 admin centre or the Google Workspace admin console |
| Read your email on the web | outlook.office.com (Microsoft 365) or mail.google.com (Google Workspace) |
| Add Outlook, Apple Mail, iPhone or Android | Add a Microsoft 365/Exchange account (M365) or a Google account (Workspace) and sign in — the provider supplies the server settings automatically |
| Find your mail DNS values (MX, SPF, DKIM) | The Microsoft 365 admin centre or the Google Workspace setup wizard |
| Add those mail DNS records | The client area DNS manager |
You never enter a Maxinodes or cPanel mail server name — there are none. Your device finds the right settings through the provider's standard autodiscover. On Managed plans we set up your email and configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC for you, and migration is free.
