Applies to: All plans (the mailboxes included with your hosting, and Professional Email).
Before you start: Have your full email address and your mailbox's password ready. Your client area and cPanel passwords are separate from your mailbox password. If you are not sure where your mailbox is, check your services in the client area -> Services -> My Services, or ask support.
Webmail lets you read and send mail in your browser, with nothing to set up. Which webmail you use depends on where your mailbox is: Roundcube on our server for a mailbox included with your hosting plan, Outlook on the web for Microsoft 365, and Gmail for Google Workspace.
Mailboxes included with your hosting plan (Roundcube)
You can open webmail in three ways:
- From the client area: open your hosting service (Services -> My Services) and choose Webmail.
-
At your own address:
https://webmail.yourdomain.com, with your own domain in place ofyourdomain.com. This works once your domain points to us and its free certificate has been issued. -
At our server's address:
https://node11.maxinodes.com:2096. This works straight away, even before your domain points to us.
- Open webmail in one of the ways above.
- If a sign-in page appears, enter the full email address (for example
you@yourdomain.com) as the username, and the mailbox's password. - Choose Log in. If a page listing webmail applications appears, open Roundcube.
Result: Your inbox opens in Roundcube. You can read, send and organise mail from any browser, and with IMAP your mail apps show the same folders.
Microsoft 365 mailboxes (Outlook on the web)
- Open your browser and go to outlook.office.com.
- Enter your full email address (for example,
you@yourdomain.com) and select Next. - Enter your password and sign in. If two-factor authentication is set up, approve the prompt or enter the code.
Result: Your inbox opens in Outlook on the web. You can read, send, and organise mail from any browser.
Google Workspace mailboxes (Gmail)
- Open your browser and go to mail.google.com.
- Enter your full email address (for example,
you@yourdomain.com) and select Next. - Enter your password and sign in. If two-step verification is set up, approve the prompt or enter the code.
Result: Your inbox opens in Gmail. You can read, send, and organise mail from any browser.
Bookmark the right address
Save the address you use as a bookmark so you can get straight to your mail: webmail.yourdomain.com (or node11.maxinodes.com:2096) for a mailbox included with your hosting, outlook.office.com for Microsoft 365, or mail.google.com for Google Workspace. Outlook on the web and Gmail are part of Microsoft's and Google's services, so their buttons and layout are controlled by Microsoft or Google and may change over time.
Prefer a mail app instead?
Webmail is the quickest way in, but you can also use a desktop or phone app. For a mailbox included with your hosting, add it as an IMAP account with the settings in Mail app settings for your mailbox (IMAP, POP3, SMTP). For Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, add a Microsoft 365 / Exchange or Google account and sign in: the provider supplies the server settings automatically. Step-by-step guides are in the related articles below.
Troubleshooting this task
- Password rejected (mailbox included with your hosting): check that you typed the full email address. To set a new password, open your service in the client area, go to Email Accounts and change the mailbox's password (or do it in cPanel -> Email Accounts). After several wrong attempts, sign-in to the mailbox is locked for five minutes, even with the right password. See My mail app can't connect, or keeps asking for my password.
- A security check appears instead of the sign-in page: our firewall is checking connections from your network, usually because a security rule was triggered from it. Complete the check (a CAPTCHA) and continue. This also lets mail apps on that network connect again; see My mail app can't connect, or keeps asking for my password.
-
Certificate warning at webmail.yourdomain.com: the certificate for that name hasn't been issued yet, usually because your domain doesn't point to us yet. Use
https://node11.maxinodes.com:2096in the meantime. - Password rejected (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace): reset it in the email provider's own admin or password-recovery flow, not in cPanel or your client area.
- Wrong sign-in page or "account not found": make sure you are signing in where your mailbox lives. A mailbox included with your hosting signs in to Roundcube, a Microsoft 365 mailbox at outlook.office.com, and a Google Workspace mailbox at mail.google.com. Mixing them up will not work.
- No mailbox yet: the mailbox must be created first. See How to create a mailbox for the mailboxes included with your hosting, or the first-mailbox guides for Professional Email in the related articles.
- Mail not arriving: your domain's MX and other email DNS records may be missing or point somewhere else. Check them in your client area DNS manager (see The DNS records your email needs) and, if needed, see Email isn't sending or receiving.
