Applies to: All plans (anyone with Professional Email — Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace).
Before you start: Have your full email address and password ready. Your Professional Email is resold Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace — so you add it as a Microsoft Exchange account or a Google account, and the provider supplies all the server settings automatically. There are no Maxinodes mail server names to type in.
Not sure which provider you have? If you read your webmail at outlook.office.com, you are on Microsoft 365. If you read it at mail.google.com, you are on Google Workspace.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings, then scroll to Mail (on older versions, Passwords & Accounts).
- Tap Accounts -> Add Account.
- Choose your provider:
- Microsoft 365: tap the option labelled Microsoft Exchange.
- Google Workspace: tap the option labelled Google.
- Enter your full email address and tap Next (for Exchange, choose Sign In so it connects automatically rather than configuring manually).
- Enter your password and complete any sign-in or two-factor prompts on your provider's screen.
- Choose what to sync (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes) and tap Save.
Result: Your mailbox appears in the Mail app, and your messages start to download.
On a Mac (macOS Mail)
- Open the Mail app, then choose Mail -> Add Account (or System Settings -> Internet Accounts -> Add Account).
- Choose your provider:
- Microsoft 365: select the option labelled Microsoft Exchange.
- Google Workspace: select the option labelled Google.
- Enter your name and full email address, then click Sign In.
- Enter your password and complete any two-factor prompts on your provider's sign-in screen.
- Tick the apps you want to use with this account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars) and click Done.
Result: Your account is added and your inbox loads in Mail.
Troubleshooting this task
- Sign-in keeps failing: confirm the email address and password by signing in to webmail first (outlook.office.com for Microsoft 365, mail.google.com for Google Workspace). If webmail works but the app does not, remove and re-add the account.
- It asks for a "mail server" or "IMAP/POP settings": you picked the wrong account type. Delete the account and start again, choosing Microsoft Exchange (Microsoft 365) or Google (Google Workspace) so autodiscover fills in the servers for you. Do not enter a Maxinodes or cPanel server name — there are none.
- Mail not flowing at all, on any device: your domain's mail DNS records may be missing or wrong. Check your MX, SPF and DKIM records in your client area DNS manager.
- You just changed your DNS or moved providers: allow time for the change to take effect — usually minutes to a few hours, up to ~24–48 hours in the worst case.
