Applies to: All plans (the mailboxes included with your hosting, and Professional Email).
Before you start: You need your full email address and password. A mailbox included with your hosting plan is added as an IMAP (or POP3) account, with our mail server's settings. For Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, you connect to Microsoft or Google directly and the provider supplies all settings automatically once you sign in.
Not sure which one you have? A mailbox included with your hosting opens in webmail at webmail.yourdomain.com or node11.maxinodes.com:2096. Microsoft 365 mailboxes sign in at outlook.office.com; Google Workspace mailboxes sign in at mail.google.com. If you can read your mail at one of those, that is your provider.
If your mailbox is included with your hosting plan
-
Username: the full email address, for example
you@yourdomain.com, with the mailbox's own password -
Incoming mail: IMAP, server
mail.yourdomain.com, port993, SSL/TLS (or POP3, port995, SSL/TLS) -
Outgoing mail (SMTP): server
mail.yourdomain.com, port465with SSL/TLS, or port587with STARTTLS; authentication required, with the same username and password
Until the free certificate for mail.yourdomain.com is issued (once your domain points to us), use node11.maxinodes.com as the incoming and outgoing server instead; the ports, username and password stay the same. In the client area, Email Accounts -> Account Configuration Details shows these settings for each mailbox. See also Mail app settings for your mailbox (IMAP, POP3, SMTP).
Using the Gmail app:
- Open Gmail, tap your profile icon (top right) -> Add another account.
- Choose Other, enter your full email address and choose manual setup.
- Choose Personal (IMAP) (or Personal (POP3)) and enter the mailbox's password.
- Incoming server settings: your full email address as the username, the password, server
mail.yourdomain.com, port993with SSL/TLS (995for POP3). - Outgoing server settings: keep sign-in required, with your full email address and the same password, server
mail.yourdomain.com, port465with SSL/TLS (or587with STARTTLS). - Choose how often to sync, give the account a name and finish.
Other mail apps, such as Samsung Email or Outlook for Android, ask for the same values: choose manual setup and an IMAP account. Don't choose a security option that accepts all certificates; while the certificate for mail.yourdomain.com is not issued yet, use node11.maxinodes.com as the server name instead.
Result: Your mailbox appears in the app and new mail arrives automatically. With IMAP, your folders stay in step with webmail and your other devices.
If you have Microsoft 365
The simplest option is the free Outlook app from the Google Play Store, but the built-in Gmail app works too.
Using the Outlook app:
- Install and open Outlook from the Play Store.
- Tap Add account (or Add an email account) and type your full email address.
- The app detects Microsoft 365 automatically. When prompted, enter your password and complete any two-factor sign-in.
Using the built-in Gmail app:
- Open Gmail, tap your profile icon (top right) -> Add another account.
- Choose the account type labelled Exchange and Microsoft 365 (sometimes shown as Exchange).
- Enter your full email address, then your password, and sign in.
Result: Your mail, calendar and contacts sync within a minute or two. New mail arrives automatically — no manual server settings required.
If you have Google Workspace
Use the built-in Gmail app — it is made for Google accounts.
- Open Gmail, tap your profile icon (top right) -> Add another account.
- Choose the account type labelled Google.
- Enter your full email address, then your password, and complete any two-factor sign-in.
Result: Your Workspace mailbox appears in Gmail alongside any personal accounts, and mail syncs automatically.
Troubleshooting this task
- The app asks for incoming/outgoing server names. For a mailbox included with your hosting, that's expected: enter the settings listed above. For Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, you picked the wrong account type: remove the account and start again, choosing Exchange and Microsoft 365 (for Microsoft 365) or Google (for Google Workspace), and the provider fills in the servers for you.
- "Username or password incorrect." Double-check the full email address and password. Try signing in to webmail first to confirm the password works (see How to open webmail). For a mailbox included with your hosting, several wrong attempts lock sign-in to it for five minutes, even with the right password: correct the password on every device that uses the mailbox, then wait five minutes. See My mail app can't connect, or keeps asking for my password.
- It asks for a verification code. Two-factor authentication is on for your provider account. Approve the prompt or enter the code from your authenticator or text message.
-
A certificate warning (mailbox included with your hosting). The certificate for
mail.yourdomain.comhasn't been issued yet. Don't accept the warning: usenode11.maxinodes.comas the incoming and outgoing server until it is. - Receiving works, but sending fails (mailbox included with your hosting). Make sure the outgoing server requires sign-in with your full email address and password, and uses port 465 with SSL/TLS or port 587 with STARTTLS.
- Nothing is downloading yet. New mailboxes can take a short while to finish setting up, and your domain's mail DNS records must be in place. See The DNS records your email needs.
- Mail still won't send or receive. See Email isn't sending or receiving.
