Welcome to Maxinodes. This checklist gets your new account live in about 15 minutes. Work through the four steps in order, and follow the linked deep-dive article for each one if you get stuck. You'll do most of this in your client area at my.maxinodes.com.
Tip: On Managed plans, much of this is done for you — we handle guided email setup, free migration, and we configure your email DNS records. If you'd rather we move your existing site across, see How to migrate your site to Maxinodes.
1. Point your domain at our nameservers
Log in to your registrar (wherever you bought your domain) and set your domain's nameservers to:
- ns1.maxinodes.com
- ns2.maxinodes.com
This tells the internet that Maxinodes is in charge of your domain. The change can take a few hours to propagate. Full steps are in How to point your domain to Maxinodes (set your nameservers).
Result: Once propagation finishes, your domain resolves to your Maxinodes hosting and you can manage all your DNS records in the client area.
2. Upload or install your website
Open your service in the client area and choose Log in to cPanel (single sign-on). From cPanel you can:
- Upload files with File Manager or connect over FTP.
- Create a database under MySQL Databases and import data via phpMyAdmin.
- Install your application (for example, a CMS).
Moving an existing site? Use How to migrate your site to Maxinodes — migration is free on every plan.
Result: Your site files are on the server and ready to serve once your domain points here.
3. Add Professional Email
Maxinodes does not host mailboxes on the hosting server — there is no cPanel webmail. Email is resold Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, ordered per seat. The quickest way to get going is the Add Professional Email add-on (around EUR 4.20/seat), available on all hosting plans.
Order seats from the client area store (the Microsoft 365 group or the Google Workspace group). After ordering, you'll add a few email DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, optional DMARC) in your client area. The exact values come from the Microsoft 365 admin centre or the Google Workspace setup wizard.
See How to add Professional Email to your hosting and The DNS records your email needs (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Result: Your new mailboxes can send and receive once the email DNS records are in place.
4. Confirm your SSL
Free SSL (AutoSSL) is issued automatically for every plan and renews on its own — you don't request it. Once your domain points to our nameservers, your certificate is normally in place within a short while.
To make sure visitors always use the secure version of your site, turn on the Force HTTPS Redirect toggle in cPanel under Domains. Full details are in Free SSL (AutoSSL) and how to force HTTPS.
Result: Your site loads over https:// with a padlock, and HTTP visitors are redirected to HTTPS.
You're set
That's the essentials. From here you might want to explore your DNS records, review your plan, or set up 2FA on your account. Everything is managed from your client area.
