How to install WordPress with WP Toolkit

Before you start: you need access to your client area (my.maxinodes.com) and the hosting account it created, the domain you want WordPress on, and a working email address for the WordPress administrator login.

WordPress is the quickest way to get a website live, and WP Toolkit in cPanel sets it up in a few clicks — no files to upload and no database to create by hand. This guide walks you from cPanel to a finished install, and shows what else WP Toolkit can do for the site afterwards.

Before you install

  • Your domain should already point to Maxinodes. If you have just signed up, set your nameservers to ns1.maxinodes.com and ns2.maxinodes.com first (see the related articles below). You can still install WordPress before DNS finishes propagating, but the site will only load once your domain resolves to us.
  • Check your plan's website limit. Self-Managed Lite and Managed Starter allow 1 website; higher plans allow more. If you are at your limit, WP Toolkit will not have a free domain to install onto — upgrade your plan first.

Install WordPress with WP Toolkit

  1. Log in to your client area at my.maxinodes.com, open Services -> My Services, click your hosting service, then click Log in to cPanel (single sign-on — no separate password needed).
  2. In cPanel, open WP Toolkit. The tile is labelled WordPress Management and sits at the top of the Domains section; typing wordpress into the cPanel search box also finds it.
  3. Click Install (on an empty account WP Toolkit offers this straight away).
  4. Under General:
    • Installation path: pick the domain or subdomain you want WordPress on from the dropdown, and choose https:// so your site uses SSL. (Free AutoSSL is issued automatically for your domains.) Leave the folder box blank to install at the root of your domain (e.g. yourdomain.ie); only enter a folder name (such as blog) if you want WordPress in a subfolder.
    • Website title: you can change this later in WordPress.
    • Language: pick the language for the new site.
  5. Under WordPress Administrator, set a strong Username (avoid admin), a strong Password, and your Email. Save these — you will need them to log in to WordPress.
  6. Leave the Database and Automatic Update Settings at their defaults; WP Toolkit creates the MySQL database and user for you, and you can change how updates run later from the site's card.
  7. Click Install.

Result: after a short wait, WP Toolkit shows a card for the new site with its live URL and a Log in button that opens wp-admin directly. WordPress is now installed and ready.

What else WP Toolkit does

Every site WP Toolkit knows about gets a card you can manage without signing in to WordPress first:

  • One-click login to wp-admin as the administrator — no password to type.
  • Updates for WordPress core, plugins and themes, on demand or automatically. Smart Update runs the update on a temporary copy first and tells you if it would break the site.
  • Plugins and themes — install, activate, deactivate or remove them, across several sites at once.
  • Security hardening — the Check Security scan lists hardening measures (blocking access to wp-config.php, disabling file editing inside wp-admin, and so on) and applies the ones you choose.
  • Clone and copy data — duplicate a site onto a subdomain to test a redesign or a risky update, then copy the result back when you are happy. See How to create a staging copy of your site.
  • Maintenance mode, debug mode and search-engine indexing — switches for the settings you would otherwise edit by hand.

After you install

  • Log in: use the Log in button on the site's card in WP Toolkit, or go to https://yourdomain/wp-admin and sign in with the admin username and password you set. See How to log in to WordPress.

Troubleshooting this task

  • No domain to select in WP Toolkit: you are likely at your plan's website limit, or the domain is not yet added to the account. Upgrade your plan or add the domain as an addon domain first.
  • The site loads but shows the wrong content / a default page: your domain may not be pointing to us yet. Confirm your nameservers are ns1.maxinodes.com and ns2.maxinodes.com and allow time for DNS to propagate.
  • "Not secure" / no padlock: AutoSSL issues certificates automatically but can take a little while after a domain first points to us. See Free SSL (AutoSSL) and how to force HTTPS.
  • A 508 "Resource limit reached" error: your account briefly exceeded its CloudLinux limits, not a full outage. Enable LiteSpeed Cache, trim heavy plugins, or upgrade your plan.
